After 30 months of fighting the “corrupt” Congress, megastar Chiranjeevi, has suddenly become the blue-eyed boy of party president Sonia Gandhi.
“She is very honest; a person of integrity,” says the actor whose legal name is Konidela Varaprasad.
When the announcement of his Praja Rajyam Party’s (PRP) merger with the Congress hit the headlines on the first Monday of this month, the Telugu film actor turned politician asserted that he would be Congress’s star campaigner.
Ignoring the CM’s seat in his native Andhra Pradesh, Chiranjeevi instead has his sights set on campaigning in West Bengal, Kerala and Tamil Nadu in the coming elections.
