India has a distinctive start to its role as main host for the Cricket World Cup this year, beginning Saturday.
It kicks off with an away match against the team that eliminated it from the last tournament in 2007. That is because while India will stage the majority of the 49 matches to be played over the next six weeks, including the final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 2, it is sharing host duties with Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
