No doubts about Thomas, Centre tells SC

PJ Thomas

The Centre has defended the appointment of PJ Thomas as head of the Central Vigilance Commission . It told the Supreme Court on Monday that his track record entitled him to hold the post.

The government also told the court that there will be no conflict of interest in Thomas supervising the probe into the 2G scam merely because he had served as secretary in the Department of Telecom. However, Attorney General GE Vahanavati had earlier told the court that Thomas had decided to rescue from supervising 2G scam.
